Cecilia Troy is a mixed media artist and owner of Artified Living, located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She has always considered herself a “maker”, however her artist career began in 1990 as a decorative painter, producing modern and distressed paint and plaster finishes, painted murals and stencilled friezes. This experience has influenced her most recent work. Oil and Cold wax medium provide a tactile experience for the creator and blend beautifully to produce unique textures and surfaces. Each painting, developed with many layers of saturated colour and physical texture provide a distinctive viewing experience for the collector and admirer of her paintings. Cecilia has exhibited in many juried shows, including Wall Candy Noir, Ottawa; Riverdale Artwalk, Toronto and The New Art Festival, Ottawa. The collection featured at Carleton Place Gallery can be described as richly distressed layers of colour and texture, inspired by surfaces created by history.
