In this 3 hour workshop Tara will guide you through the process of creating your very own wall hanging. Choose from one of the colours above. From warping your loom, creating a fringe, weaving the body and securely hanging it - you will leave with a new skill set and a unique piece of art made with your own two hands.
Tara Morris is a fibre artist currently based out of Ottawa, Ontario. She has lived and travelled all over Canada and takes inspiration from the country’s diverse landscape to weave scenes of land, water and sky. Tara is a self-taught artist who spent twenty years working as a professional photographer before discovering the medium of fibre. By combining traditional weaving techniques with unique textured and layered components, she is able to create tactile pieces that feel as dynamic and alive as the landscapes they portray. Tara weaves with natural fibres such as wool, cotton, silk and alpaca; this provides each piece with an organic palette and allows her to represent the true beauty of nature with nature itself. Tara works with private collectors to create custom pieces and sells her work at art shows and markets in the greater Ottawa area.
