Through a carefully considered integration of symbols, the aim is to communicate the gallery’s core values and its role in the local arts scene. The design incorporates four key elements, each representing an integral part of the gallery’s identity:
1) Community: One of the foundational pillars of the gallery is its deep connection to the local community. To symbolize this, we’ve shown a group of circles to illustrate unity and inclusivity. This represents the collaborative spirit that binds artists, visitors, and the gallery together. 2) A Beautiful Physical Space: The square symbol represents the gallery’s physical space by evoking a sense of structure and balance, mirroring the gallery’s role as a curated environment for art. The square icon communicates a welcoming and inspiring space where creativity is framed and celebrated, offering visitors a harmonious setting to engage with art. 3) Staying True to the Town’s Heritage: The gallery has become an integral part of Carleton Place’s culture. The bridge symbol is a subtle reference to a historical and architectural feature that is unique to the town (as well as the CPG’s location on Bridge Street). By adding this element to the logo, we reinforce the gallery’s connection to the town’s roots and its commitment to preserving its legacy. 4) The Artists and Their Craft: At the heart of the gallery is the celebration of the artists and their craft. To symbolize this, we have incorporated an abstract representation of creativity and artistry — a sculptural form. This icon serves as a tribute to the talent, innovation, and dedication of the artists who are central to the gallery’s purpose. |
